Chip Timing Tutorial

Chip Timing is an important aspect of the race. It records your swim time, your bike time and your run time. It is a simple, comfortable strap-like device worn above your ankle. It is always worn on the left leg and chip timer should always face outward.

When registering for our event, you will receive a chip timer. Whatever your bib/race # is is also your chip timer #.

During a relay, the chip timer will be handed off from one person to the next (one leg to the next leg) and should be worn the same way for each person - left leg facing outward. It is also worn during the swim. Be sure to go over this with your relay partners before the race, to ensure there is no confusion when timing matters the most - on the race course!

Happy Racing!

Updates and Happenings with the Tri

Just a few updates regarding the Fit City Triathlon.
We're happy to announce that we have 24 sponsors this year - the most we've ever had! Thank you to all those who have sponsored in the past, those who have sponsored every year and all of our newbies this year!

We're working on getting those Famous Racing Sausages to come to our event. Cross your toes and fingers!

Working with Endurance House East, we would like to offer you a 101 Triathlon Clinic to be held at their store! Stay tuned for updates regarding more info and date/time.

This year our adult participants will be receiving a Performance T-Shirt and we'll also be selling tanks, t-shirts, and hoodies in our concession stand. Send us an email at watfitcitytri@gmail.com if you're interested in owning one of these before the tri - as we're having a "club only" apparel order that begins Wednesday, July 3rd through July 31st.

Register EARLY this year! We've been upping our efforts on participation/recruitment and have seen a good amount of people already registering. We max out at 400 people - so register now to guarantee a spot in the tri!

Have you started practicing the race routes? All the race route maps have been updated on our Facebook and Blog pages.

Happy Training!
